DSPL7 support & services

Each DSPL is responsible for delivering the priorities of the LA SEND strategy 2018-23, developed to address the outcomes of the LA SEND inspection, at a local level.

 

Currently, these priorities are:

  • Behaviour and SEMH
  • Specialist Provision
  • Targeted SEND services
  • SLCN (including ASD)
  • Early Years
  • Post 16

 

In addition, we respond to local need through analysis of local and county data.

CPD

  • Part-funded Steps training for 2 members of staff/school
  • Part-funded anxiety and transition workshops delivered by St Albans Plus
  • Professionals training on range of SEN needs
  • Support for completing MH Kite mark
  • Funded EY SENCo CERTSEY training

Support for Families

Parenting Support

  • Funded ADD-vance coaching for parents, accessed through School Family Workers in the local partnerships
  • SEN Family support worker accessed through the local partnerships

Support for CYP and siblings

  • Monthly groups for siblings and young carers in Y2 – Y6 and Y7 – Y9
  • COVID-19 support group for siblings affected by lockdown
